Lt Gen James Mugira hosts high-level delegation from China Changasha Municipal People’s Government at his office in Bugolobi.

On 12th May 2024, Lt Gen James Mugira, the Managing Director, National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), hosted a high-level delegation from China Changasha Municipal People’s Government at his office in Bugolobi, Kampala.
The delegation was led by the Executive Deputy Mayor of the Municipal People’s Government , Mr. Peng Hausong who was accompanied by the Director of Municipal Bureau of Commerce Mr. Cheng Ping and senior officials from HBP led by Director and General Manager  Mr. Li Songbai.
HBP is a leading company in the oil and gas industry and a business partner with Luwero Industries in oil waste management in Kikube District.
Gen Mugira welcomed and informed the delegation that  Uganda and China have had cordial relationship for a long time and that China was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Uganda on 18th October 1962 immediately after the country’s independence.
Gen Mugira further informed the delegation that there are many Chinese companies which have invested in Uganda in many areas like mining and manufacturing and that Chinese Companies have greatly contributed to infrastructure development in power, roads, railway, etc.
On his part, Mr. Peng Hausong thanked Gen Mugira for the warm hospitality accorded to his delegation and informed Gen Mugira that the delegation was in Uganda to strengthen the existing collaboration and cooperation and to explore new projects like municipal water treatment in which they expressed readiness to provide financial support.
Gen Mugira and his guest discussed potential areas of collaboration and cooperation.
Present were Maj Gen Sabiti Muzeyi, the General Manager Luwero Industries, Mr. Stanley Ndyabahika the Project Manager Oil Waste Management and other NEC senior managers.
