From Blueprints to National Pride: NEC Completes Uganda’s High-Tech Security Printing Factory.

Entebbe, Wakiso – Rising within the serene precincts of the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) Headquarters in Entebbe is a silent revolution in steel, concrete and glass – Uganda’s first state-of-the-art, high-tech security printing factory.
The imposing facility, which will house the Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC) Ltd, has been meticulously brought to life by the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), through its engineering powerhouse, NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd (NEC Works).
More than just a building, the factory is a fortress of sovereignty. Once its specialized printing equipment roars to life, Uganda will no longer need to outsource its most sensitive identity to foreign presses.  Security documents will all bear the indelible mark of “Made in Uganda.”
The heavy lifting is done. The major infrastructure works – the civil, structural and architectural marvels that define a world-class secure facility – are now complete. The plant stands ready, awaiting the ceremonial handover and commissioning.
The completion of the USPC plant is yet another feather in the cap of NEC Works, a subsidiary that has quietly morphed from a military construction unit into a national construction behemoth. Its signature is now etched across the country’s strategic skyline – from the futuristic Kiira Motors Corporation Electric Vehicle Plant in Jinja to sprawling industrial parks and other landmark government and private infrastructure.
In delivering the USPC factory, NEC Works has once again demonstrated that local expertise, when trusted, can deliver global standards – securing not just documents, but Uganda’s future.
