On July 24, 2024, Lt Col James Okiring officiated the hand/takeover ceremony of the Military Assistant to the Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) at the NEC Headquarters in Bugolobi, Kampala.

 Maj George Abekun relinquished the office to Maj Gerald Maani.

In his remarks, Lt Col Okiring expressed gratitude to Maj Abekun for his successful tenure and wished him well in his future academic pursuits.

 He also extended a warm welcome to Maj Maani to the NEC family.

During the hand/takeover, Maj Abekun expressed his appreciation to the Managing Director of NEC, Lt Gen James Mugira, for the opportunity to serve under his leadership and acknowledged the valuable experience gained during his tenure.

 He also commended the NEC staff for their teamwork and cooperation.

Maj Maani thanked his unit for nominating him for this role and pledged his unwavering dedication and commitment to his duties. He emphasized his intention to be a team player and solicited cooperation from the staff to ensure a harmonious working relationship.

The ceremony was attended by senior staff members from the NEC Headquarters.
