Hon. Alice Kaboyo Commissions Liberation Veterans’ Houses in Nakaseke District
Today, November 12, 2025, Hon. Alice Kaboyo, State Minister for Luwero Triangle and Rwenzori Affairs, commissioned two houses built for liberation veterans in Nakaseke District. The houses, funded by the Ministry and constructed by NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd, a subsidiary of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), are a tribute to the veterans’ contributions to Uganda’s 1981-86 liberation struggle.
The beneficiaries are the late Capt. Nakabale Ssempa of Kyerere, Kapeeka, and Capt. Yoram Kisuze of Namusaale of Nakaseke District.
Hon. Kaboyo expressed gratitude to President Museveni for providing resources to support veterans who contributed to the liberation struggle.
Hon Kaboyo thanked the people of Nakaseke for their support of the struggle and urged them to continue backing government initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty, including the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyoga programmes.
Hon. Kaboyo also appreciated NEC for their quality work, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
Eng. Brian Buhanda, General Manager of NEC Works representing Managing Director of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), Lt Gen James Mugira thanked the President for his strategic leadership and visionary policies, the Minister for finding time to commission the structures, and for giving NEC an opportunity to showcase its potential in the construction industry.
Eng Buhanda promised NEC’s continued support to the Ministry and advised the beneficiaries to maintain their new homes.
Eng. Buhanda also thanked the Minister for selecting NEC to build houses for the freedom fighters, noting that it was a fitting tribute to the veterans whose struggle led to the establishment of NEC.
