Maj Gen Oula Presides Over Hand/Takeover at NEC Farm-Katonga.

Maj Gen (Rtd) Innocent Oula, Deputy Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), presided over the hand/takeover ceremony at NEC Farm-Katonga today as Mr. Mwongyera Frankline officially took over as General Manager from Col (Rtd) John Kagwisa.
The ceremony was held at the farm’s headquarters in Kisozi, Gomba District. Gen Oula said the event marked an important moment to reflect on past work, appreciate service, and renew commitment to the farm’s growth.
He praised Col Kagwisa for his dedication, vision, patience, and resilience in sustaining and developing the farm, and encouraged him to share his UPDF and NEC knowledge with local communities. He wished Kagwisa success in his future endeavours.
While congratulating  Mr. Mwongyera, Gen Oula described NEC Farm-Katonga as a strategic farm with great potential for agricultural production, job creation, and national development. He urged the new manager to build on the foundation laid through teamwork, integrity, innovation, and determination.
Gen Oula stressed that personnel are key to the farm’s success and that farms like Katonga play a vital role in food security, agricultural modernisation, and improving livelihoods. He called on staff to extend to the new manager the same support given to the outgoing one.
Col (Rtd) Kagwisa said he was happy to hand over and thanked NEC leadership, the Managing Director, and staff for their cooperation and mentorship.
Mr. Mwongyera thanked Kagwisa for his service and advice, pledged to build on his legacy, and accepted the responsibility as General Manager.
