On December 12, 2025, Maj Gen (Rtd) Innocent Oula, Deputy Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), warmly welcomed a delegation from the Kenya National Defence College to NEC Headquarters.
The visit underscored the robust partnership between Kenya and Uganda, highlighting their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development in the East African region and beyond.
Maj Gen Oula briefed the delegation on NEC’s mandate to support national development through industrial and commercial enterprises that complement the mission of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). He highlighted NEC’s key sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, construction, defence products production, and strategic infrastructure development.
The visit provided an opportunity for learning, collaboration, and exchange of ideas between NEC and the Kenya National Defence College. Maj Gen Oula expressed NEC’s desire to learn from the delegation’s experiences, noting that Kenya’s National Defence College played a key role in establishing Uganda’s National Defence College.
Maj Gen Yahya Sheikh Abdi, leader of the Kenya National Defence College delegation, expressed gratitude to NEC for hosting them. The delegation comprises students from East Africa, Africa, and Asia, focusing on strategic policy and guidance in their respective countries.
Gen Abdi expressed confidence that the visit would enhance their understanding of NEC’s operations and foster valuable connections.
The visit strengthens regional integration and highlights the strong ties between Kenya and Uganda.
