NEC Security Services Ltd Passes Out New Batch of Security Guards, Urges Discipline and Integrity.

NEC Security Services Limited (NSSL), a subsidiary of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), passed out a new batch of security guards who completed a one-month intensive training programme, as the company continues to bolster capacity ahead of the execution of strategic security contracts across the country. The pass-out ceremony was held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Gaddafi Barracks in Jinja, where the newly trained guards were recognised and prepared for deployment in various security assignments.

The pass-out ceremony was presided over by NEC Deputy Managing Director, Maj Gen Innocent Oula, who commended the recruits for the discipline and commitment they demonstrated throughout the training period. “You have demonstrated determination, resilience and commitment throughout your training and therefore deserve today’s recognition for this important milestone,” Maj Gen Oula told the recruits.

Addressing the recruits, he urged them to treat the milestone as the start of a continuous journey of professional growth. “Let this be the beginning of a lifelong commitment to continuous learning and excellence. Security threats continue to evolve, and so must your skills,” he said. He commended the training instructors for their dedication and reaffirmed NEC’s commitment to developing a professional security workforce that meets international standards, before wishing the graduates well in their upcoming deployment.

Speaking at the ceremony, NSSL Deputy General Manager Col Vincent Odori Omollo said professional security services are essential in supporting Uganda’s economic growth, investment and business operations.

He linked the role of security personnel to Uganda’s national development aspirations under Vision 2040, noting that a secure environment enables businesses and communities to thrive.  “Security is a shared responsibility, and professional private security services play an important role in complementing government security agencies,” Col Omollo said.

Col Omollo revealed that the company recruited 283 personnel during recruitment exercises conducted between July 11 and 18, 2026, in Kampala and Jinja. He said 13 trainees, including two females and 11 males, withdrew from the programme, while the remaining candidates successfully completed the course. The recruits came from diverse backgrounds, including veterans, retired members of security services, former police and prison officers, former international security personnel and civilians, including university graduates.

The training programme was coordinated by the Non-Commissioned Officers Training Academy in Gaddafi barracks, Jinja. The Academy’s Coordinator, Capt. James Patrick Ogolu, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to train the young Ugandans, describing them as patriotic and ready to serve in NSSL’s security operations. The ceremony was also attended by the General Manager of the EACOP Project, Brig (Rtd) Dominic Twesigomwe, HR Manager-NSSL and NSSL Marketing Manager.

Outstanding trainees were recognised for their performance during the training. Hamba Travov was awarded Best Overall Trainee, Dheyongara Asaad emerged as Best in Marksmanship, Kijuga Muyingo was recognised as the Most Disciplined Trainee, Niwagaba Hillary received the Best in Leadership award, while Nuwe Ahereza was named the Most Motivated Trainee.

The pass-out ceremony marks another milestone in NEC’s continued efforts to strengthen its subsidiaries through capacity building and investment in a professional security workforce capable of delivering reliable security services across Uganda.
